CBGBAnd edgy typeface and new identity for the birthplace of punk rock.CBGB was an iconic music venue in 1970’s Lower Manhattan, originally known as the birthplace of punk rock. The venue shut down in 2006, but if it were reborn in the modern day, youthful musicians and experimental sounds would reverberate from the venue’s open doors. An edgy custom typeface, pulsating colors, and knockout type, reflects an ever-evolving punk culture, and a punk musicians ultimate desire - to be heard.
A series of logos for CBGB were developed in a logo development course. The logos were revisited, and personally developed into a full typeface and brand identity.
