CBGB

In the 1970s, Lower Manhattan’s CBGB was the birthplace of punk rock and a symbol of rebellion. If the venue were reborn today, new musicians and experimental sounds would emerge. An edgy custom typeface, paired with bold colors and knockout type, reflects a punk's desire for individuality and recognition. A blend of kinetic movement and stop-motion design creates a dynamic style that stands out against the crowded city streets.

A series of logos for CBGB were developed in a logo development course. The logos were revisited, and personally developed into a full typeface and brand identity.
